I've been a fan of Lorin Ford's haiku for some years now, having always been
fascinated by haiku's ability to be at once graceful, understated and yet powerful
enough to get the waves jumping. I remember reading in
Simply Haiku that Lorin's
"first love was the Seaford beach and foreshore; her second, the timbered valleys
and estuary of a small East Gippsland town" - it sounded like the perfect landscape
for the kind of haiku I love - and in
what light there is, Lorin demonstrates exactly
what I'd hoped for. And, during the making of this show, we at 3lights were
delighted to hear that Lorin's book,
A Wattle Seedpod, was awarded first place in
the Haiku Society of America's annual Mildred Kanterman Award - congratulations
Lorin!

We're fortunate here at 3lights to present this fine selection of Lorin's work.
