Biographies
PAMELA A. BABUSCI
Pamela A. Babusci is an internationally award winning haiku/tanka & haiga artist. Some of her
awards include: Museum of Haiku Literature Award, International Tanka Splendor Awards, First
Place Yellow Moon Competition (tanka category), First Place Kokako Tanka Competition, Basho
Festival Haiku Contest (Japan) and Honorable Mention Suruga Baika Literary Festival (Japan).

and Taboo Haiku. She was the logo artist for Haiku North America in NYC in 2003 and
HNA in Winston-Salem, NC in 2007.

In her spare time she presses flowers, ferns & leaves to make cards & framings, abstract
watercolor/oil painting, sumi-e painting, Chinese calligraphy, makes collages & jewelry. She has a
deep desire to be creative on a daily basis, which feeds her spirit & soul & gives meaning to her
life. Poetry & art have been an integral part of her existence since her early teen age years & will
continue to be a driving force until she meets her creator. Pamela exhibited work in a solo show
at 3lights in 2008.

JON BALDWIN
Jon has been published in
Acorn, Blithe Spirit, Eucalypt, The Heron's Nest, Riverbed, and the
3Lights Gallery. One of his haiku was selected for inclusion in
The Red Moon Anthology 2008.
He is general secretary of the British Haiku Society.

ROBERTA BEARY
Roberta Beary's solo exhibition, the words i meant to say, is featured at 3Lights Gallery.  Her
book,
The Unworn Necklace (Snapshot Press), is a William Carlos Williams Award finalist (
Poetry Society of America) and Merit Book Award winner (Haiku Society of America).  She and
her husband, writer Frank Stella, live near Washington, DC. Roberta has also exhibited work in a
solo show at 3lights.

BOB BRILL
Bob Brill is a retired computer programmer now devoting his energies to writing fiction and
poetry. He has published fiction in
Lunarosity, Bewildering Stories, Flashquake, and other
journals. Some of his senryu poems have appeared in
Simply Haiku and Prune Juice. He will be
the featured poet in the Senryu section of
Simply Haiku's forthcoming Summer issue.

HELEN BUCKINGHAM
Helen Buckingham was born in London, 1960, and presently lives in Bristol. Her poems have
appeared throughout the world, in journals and anthologies such as
Presence and Snapshots
(UK),  
Frogpond, Mayfly, Modern Haiku, and A New Resonance 5 (US) and The Mainichi Daily
News
(Japan). Her work has been placed in competitions including the HIA, The Basho Memorial,
The Suruga Baika
and The Mainichi Daily News (Japan) and The Hackett and Snapshot Press's
The Haiku Calendar (UK). Helen has also exhibited work in the 3lights solo show, Waking Again
with the Dog
.

LORIN FORD
Lorin Ford left school at fourteen, preferring a glamorous career in hairdressing to her year 9
correspondence lessons. Later, she received an Honours degree in Eng. Lit. and taught English
and ESL in Melbourne 's north-west. Currently, she writes haiku and longer poems. Her first
haiku book,
a wattle seedpod (PostPressed , Australia - http://www.postpressed.com.au) was
launched in July 2008.

LARYALEE FRASER
Laryalee Fraser is a retired reporter/photographer, living in British Columbia, Canada. Laryalee's
work has been in several online publications.

ROSE HUNTER
Rose's poetry appeared in the 3lights exhibition, Tankafall. Her haiku and tanka have appearing
in journals including
Shamrock Haiku, Roadrunner Haiku, MET and The Heron's Nest. She has
also had other poetry and short stories in a variety of journals. Links to Rose's work online can

_KALA
_Kala, an exponent of North Indian Classical music, took a sudden liking to haiku in 2005. Her
work, consisting of haiku, tanka, senryu, haibun and renku, has appeared in leading e-zines and
anthologies. Kala comes from an artistic and culturally rich South Indian family. She believes, as
her father is fond of saying, that “the soil needs to be fertile for the plant to bloom” and feels that
she owes this poetic streak to her mother. A proud mother of two young adults, Kala lives with
her husband in Pune, India. She is currently exhibiting work in a 3lights solo show.

CLAIRE KNIGHT
Claire Knight is a Reflexologist and Teacher. She has a son and daughter and two delightful
young grandchildren. Claire lives on the south coast of Kent and draws much inspiration from the
sea and the beautiful countryside nearby.  A relative newcomer to haiku, for Claire, writing these
forms has become a passion and she continues to contribute to various publications in the UK
and overseas. Claire finds great satisfaction in being part of the global haiku family.

NATALIA KUZNETSOVA
Natalia Kuznetsova(Moscow,Russia), is a university assistant professor of English and a
freelance conference interpreter. She mostly writes poetry in Russian and has a book of lyrical
poems published, having participated in several poetry projects. She recently "discovered" the
world of Japanese poetry and started to write tanka, haiku and senryu in English. Natalia has
contributed to several international competitions and won a third prize at the 12th Kusamakura
haiku competition aswell as gaining an "Honourable Mention" at the Vancouver 2008 Haiku
Invitational competition. She also won a prize at the 2008 "Genkissau! Spirits up! Hekinan Haiku
Contest". Natalia has participated in several 3LIGHTS haiku exhibitions.

BOB LUCKY
Bob Lucky lives in Hangzhou, China, where he teaches history. His work has appeared in various
journals.

MAC MILLER
Mac Miller, aged 67 years, was born in London. After a seven year apprenticeship in Fleet
Street, Mac married and emigrated to Hamilton, New Zealand. He became serious about Art
Photography having work published and numerous exhibitions. Mac started playing in a blues /
rock band and wrote most of the lyrics which is how he became involved with poetry, only very
recently discovering the Japanese forms. At this time, Mac enjoys haiku / senryu because it
touches his sense of  humour.

VASILE MOLDOVAN
Vasile Moldovan is a Romanina poet. Since 2001 he is the president of Romanian Society of
Haiku. He published some haiku and senryu books:
Via dolorosa (1998), The Moon's Unseen
Face
(2001), Noah's Ark (2003), Ikebana (2005).Together with poetess Magdalena Dale, they
have written bilingual renga book,
Mireasma de tei/ Fragrance of Lime.

ROBERT MOYER
Robert Moyer, Winston Salem, NC, wrote haiku for many years before he published anything.  
His work has since appeared in
frogpond, Modern Haiku, bottle rockets, Acorn, and Simply
Haiku
, among others.  He has also been included in a number of anthologies, most recently in
Loose Threads, the ten-year anniversary anthology of Acorn.  He was privileged to host the 2007
Haiku North America Conference with Dave Russo and Lenard D. Moore in his home town of
Winston Salem, NC.

AYAZ DARYL NEILSEN
Ayaz Daryl Nielsen is a father/husband/veteran/poet/hospice nurse - he also is editor/custodian
of
Bear Creek Haiku.

MATTHEW PAUL
Matthew Paul is an Associate Editor of Presence haiku journal. His collection of haiku,
The
Regulars
, was published by Snapshot Press in 2007. Wing Beats: British Birds in Haiku, co-
written and edited with John Barlow, was also published by Snapshot Press, in 2008. He has a

PATRICIA PRIME
Patricia is co-editor of the NZ haiku journal
Kokako, reviews editor of Takahe and the online
magazine
Stylus, and assistant editor of Haibun Today.  Her latest ventures are an interview with
NZ poet, C K Stead, and a tanka prose collaboration with three other poets.

ELAINE RIDDELL
Elaine Riddell lives in Hamilton, New Zealand, an inland city in the North Island on the banks of
the Waikato River.  She has a background in education. Elaine writes haiku, tanka and other
poems, some of which have been published in journals and anthologies in New Zealand and
other parts of the world.

CHAD LEE ROBINSON
Chad Lee Robinson's haiku and related poetry have been published in numerous journals online
and in print across eight countries, including
Acorn, bottle rockets, Frogpond, Mayfly, Modern
Haiku, The Heron's Nest
, and many others, and has been included in as many anthologies,
including five editions of the
Red Moon Anthology, and most notably Baseball Haiku: The Best
Haiku Ever Written about the Game
, edited by Cor van den Heuvel (WW Norton, 2007). He lives
in Pierre, SD, USA.

ALTHEA ROWE WATSON
Althea’s writing has been produced for audiences in New York City and Chicago among other
cities. A writer for series of instructional and new age recordings, a voice for a myriad of books
and episodic adventures on tape and a member of SAG, AFTRA and AEA. She is included in,
Channeling The Heart and the Art, by Diana Muenz-Chen. Althea is a consultant, teacher and
has been a guest for television shows regarding topics in: performance; physical and vocal
alignment and stress management; the healing arts and metaphysics.

CLAUDETTE RUSSELL
Claudette Russell is a retired high school English teacher who lives with her husband in rural
Connecticut. Her poetry has been published in various print and online journals.

JANE SCOTT
Jane is a Filipina who lives in Kent, England with husband John and their lovely German
shepherd dog Tjukken. She’s been writing poetry for years now but her more recent passions
are haiku, senryu, and tanka. She likes the arresting qualities of these forms of poetry especially
if they throw a good punch at the end. She loves their simplicity and elegance, their minimalist
structure and form that challenge one to put so much meaning in such a few words. Some of her
works had been included in past exhibitions of the 3Lights Gallery and more recently, her haiku
got honourable mention in the International Section of the 12th Mainichi Daily News Haiku
Contest 2008.

DAVID SERJEANT
David Serjeant works as a local government officer and lives in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with his
young family. In early 2008, David set up the British Haiku Society online discussion group which
he currently co-moderates. His haiku have been published in various journals, both in print and
online and when he can be bothered, he maintains his own website at

ADELAIDE B. SHAW
Adelaide B. Shaw writes haiku, tanka and haibun, as well as short stories. Her work has
appeared in a number of journals, both in print and on-line, in the US and abroad. She and her
husband live in Millbrook, NY, USA.  She has published one collection of  haiku, An Unknown

LAURENCE STACEY
Laurence Stacey is a 24 year old college student in Powder Springs Georgia. He works for his
father as a network engineer, and will be graduating in summer 2009 with his B.A. in creative
writing. In his spare time, he studies martial arts and Japanese poetry with equal enthusiasm. His
poems have been featured in
Simply Haiku and AHA Poetry.

ANDRÉ SURRIDGE
André Surridge - Born in Hull, England, André lives in the city of Hamilton, New Zealand. He is the
winner of several national and international writing awards and his writing has been widely
published and anthologised.

BARBARA A. TAYLOR
Barbara lives in northern NSW, Australia. Her poems appear in journals and anthologies
including

GARETH TREW
Gareth Trew is twenty-one years old and thoroughly enjoys living in London. As well as creative
writing, he is also keenly interested in the performing arts, particularly acting.

DIANA WEBB
Diana Webb believes strongly in the way participation in the arts can enhance well being.For this
reason she is involved in several projects which encourage people with mental health problems
to create with words with emphasis on the playful aspects.Haiku feature strongly in her projects.
Diana is currently Events Officer for the British Haiku Society and her first book of haibun
Takeaway has just appeared from Hub Editions who published her four previous haiku
collections.

DICK WHYTE
Dick Whyte is a polymath from Wellington, New Zealand. He recently got his Masters in Film
writing on New Zealand experimental film-maker Joanna Margaret Paul. One of the central points
of his masters thesis was the connection between experimental film and the Japanese haiku
poem, particularly in terms of “floating lines,” quantum physics and multiplicity. He enjoys writing
philosophy, poetry and science-fiction short-stories, as well as playing folk and noise music and
making abstract art and comics. Dick has previously had haiku poems published in the
Roadrunner Journal and Chrysanthemum.

LIAM WILKINSON
Liam Wilkinson lives in Yorkshire, England with his wife, Diane. He is the founder and curator of
the 3lights gallery and chief editor of
Modern Haiga. His poetry has been published in print and
on the Internet. He is also a haiga artist and musician. Liam's blog can be found at

STEPHEN JARRELL WILLIAMS
Stephen Jarrell Williams has done everything from mowing lawns to being an executive at a
software company. His poetry and short stories have appeared in over a hundred publications.  
He loves to write, listen to his music, and dance late into the night.
